BPM-Sports "Testosterone Free" Pro training camp with Belinda and Justin Granger sells out and provides athletes with a chance to train with 2 of the World's best triathletes......lets not forget the "Secret Men's Business" camp either!

BPM-Sport introduces Pro Camp with Mirinda Carfrae in idyllic Phuket

2009 Ironman Runner-up, 2007 World 70.3 Ironman Champion and 12 times 70.3 Ironman champion Mirinda Carfrae will be teaming up with BPM-Sport for their 5th Pro Camp from the 4-8th November 2010 in Phuket, Thailand.

Aimed at athletes training for the Asia Pacific Championships, Phuket Triathlon or Ironman Western Australia, athletes will be given the opportunity to train with one of the greatest long course female's who is renowned for her run speed, "chicking" many of her male competitors on her way to the finish line. Rinnie clocked the fastest run time at Kona last year, on her debut, and often has half-marathon times just seconds behind the winning men....so this girl can move!!

Fresh from Kona, Rinnie and qualified BPM-Sport triathlon coaches will help athletes in all triathlon disciplines as they prepare for their end of season racing, while having some fun along the way.

For more information on this amazing experience, email info@BPM-Sport.com and we hope to see you in Thailand in November.

BPM-Sport, Bringing You The World's Best!

BPM-Sport visit the Baan Tharn Namchai Orphanage

Thanks to the generosity of BPM-Sport clients and friends, a suitcase full of swimming goggles and  costumes, rice, cooking oil, milo and a few special treats were recently delivered to the Baan Tharn Namchai orphanage in the Khao Lak area of Thailand.

The Orphanage is home to 72 children, many of whom lost their families in the 2006 Boxing Day Tsunami that struck the popular resort area of Thailand.

Hands Across the Water, a charity set up to work with the orphange, recognises the need to continually support these children so they can be comfortable, secure and have what every little boy and girl should and it was with their help that the visit was made possible.

With the recent implementation of swimming classes for the children, BPM-Sport staff were assured that the donated items would be put to good use.

For more information on Hands Across The Water, (one of BPM-Sports chosen charities) and the Baan Tharn Namchai Orphanage, visit www.handsacrossthewater.com.au

BPM and Chris McCormack support CAF Charity Event

On Wednesday 10th February over 60 members of ANZA Cycling Club enjoyed a BPM social evening of Beers, Burgers and Banter with Chris "Macca" McCormack at Brewerkz Riverside Point.

The event, which was held to provide sports grants to Singapore-based physically challenged athletes through the Challenged Athletes Foundation, raised $4,000. We were joined on the night by a 2009 grant recipient (Jack Lai Pak Lok) and Fung-liang Foo (president of the handcycle association of Singapore).

Everyone was enthralled by the tales and tips shared by Macca during the night with an open Q and A session and one lucky person winning a signed pigeon bike with matching Team BPM Jersey, Training shirt and visor.

BPM Athlete Dan Plews takes bronze at World Long Course Championship

Beats Per Minute wishes to congratulate our very own Team BPM member Dan Plews on his incredible result at the recent ITU Long Course World Championships held in Perth, Western Australia. Suffering from an illness going into the race, Dan showed his fighting spirit with a wonderful result against the world’s best in the 3/80/20 triathlon course in hot conditions. Dan was joined on the podium by his father Graham who took 3rd in the Men’s 55-59 category. A great day for the Plews family!

Congratulations to Kona Athletes

The 2009 Triathlon Ironman World Champion has been crowned and we are very excited with the result.

Coming in 4th and fighting until the end was our good friend Chris "Macca" McCormack who showed everyone why he is one of the sport's greatest. In 8th was Pete Jacobs who came out of the water 3rd and after dropping back in the field during the bike leg, ran hard to achieve his pre race target of finishing in the top 10.

We look forward to working with Macca and PJ throughout 2010 for BPM Elite training camps and training sessions.

Congratulations must also go to our Friends of BPM, Brian, Mark and Assad, for finishing the gruelling race in outstanding times. You guys are inspirational and deserve your results, we know how hard you have worked towards World's and hope you can now enjoy some time away from training.

September 2009 - BPM and Pete Jacobs donate money to charity

BPM in conjunction with Pete Jacobs are proud to support the Tribob Hoi An Children's Swim Program.

The program was started in 2008 in Hoi An, Central Vietnam after statistics from the Ministry of Health indicated that 10 children drown every day making it the leading cause of injury related death among children over the age of one. It is a simple program which gives children basic swimming and other water safety skills which could help save their lives. Over a six month period in 2008, 300 children between the ages of 11-15 were successfully taught to swim. This program has been very well received by the children, their parents, the schools and the wider community. The aim in 2009 is to teach 1000 children in Quang Nam Province in Vietnam how to swim.

We believe that this program ties in nicely with Pete Jacobs, one of triathlons greatest swimmers, so have donated a percentage of the earnings from the private swim sessions held with Pete during his visit to Singapore to this worthwhile cause.

September 2009 - Pete Jacobs training sessions a huge success

Australian Long Course Champion and professional triathlete Pete Jacobs was in Singapore for the last week of August to provide training sessions for budding triathletes.

With a choice of private swim sessions, swim and track squads, bike rides or an open water swim, participants were given the opportunity to be coached by one of triathlon's greatest, with most opting for some one-on-one time in the pool with Pete.

While in town, Pete also presented a Nutrition lecture to ANZA Cycling members who were able to learn a few new tricks when it comes to hydration and proper fuelling during training and racing.

The week was a huge successful with everyone enjoying the opportunity to spend time with Pete and improve upon their swim/bike/run technique and efficiency.

September 2009 - BPM Athletes take to the podium at the Vietnam International Triathlon

Now in it's 3rd year, the Vietnam International Triathlon 2009 saw 4 BPM athlete's take to the the podium at the awards dinner on the 29th August after successfully competing in the olympic distance race.

Held in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An, athletes had to battle strong winds that made the usually calm ocean a washing machine and the flat ride through rice fields and surrounding villages a challenge. Luckily by the time athletes hit the run leg, the sun had been covered by clouds which allowed athletes to race through a local fishing village in slightly "cooler" conditions.

Winning their respective age groups were; Ryan McKay 30-34 male, Evan Gallagher 35-39 male (4th overall) and Alice Lloyd 18-29 female while Nicole Gallagher placed 2nd in the 30-34 female category - fantastic work guys, you certainly worked hard out there to achieve these results.

Special mention must also go to BPM athletes Gemma Hollis who finished her first ever triathlon in a time of 3 hours, 23 minutes (an outstanding achievement considering many athletes failed to finish the course due to the tough conditions), Angela Locke for finishing 5th in her age group and Clare Holland for also making it to the finish line - Great work girls!!

August 2009 - BPM Athletes take on OSIM International Triathlon

Congratulations also to Macca-X Camp participants Rob Hensby and Terry Walsh who both finished the race strong in under 5 hours - looks like your training with Macca paid off.

The first BPM Elite training camp in conjunction with Macca-X has now finished to rave reviews. Chris  "Macca" McCormack joined 15 athletes in Desaru, at the sold out camp, for an intense weekend of triathlon training.
