BPM-Sport visit the Baan Tharn Namchai Orphanage

Thanks to the generosity of BPM-Sport clients and friends, a suitcase full of swimming goggles and  costumes, rice, cooking oil, milo and a few special treats were recently delivered to the Baan Tharn Namchai orphanage in the Khao Lak area of Thailand.

The Orphanage is home to 72 children, many of whom lost their families in the 2006 Boxing Day Tsunami that struck the popular resort area of Thailand.

Hands Across the Water, a charity set up to work with the orphange, recognises the need to continually support these children so they can be comfortable, secure and have what every little boy and girl should and it was with their help that the visit was made possible.

With the recent implementation of swimming classes for the children, BPM-Sport staff were assured that the donated items would be put to good use.

For more information on Hands Across The Water, (one of BPM-Sports chosen charities) and the Baan Tharn Namchai Orphanage, visit www.handsacrossthewater.com.au

Bali International Triathlon

Now in its 4th year, the MRA Bali International Triathlon has become one of the “Must Do” races on the triathlon calendar and is touted as a “triathlon for the soul”.

This year's race on the 20th July, drew a crowd of over 400 athletes from Europe, America, Asia and Australia keen to compete in either the Olympic or Sprint distance triathlon.  Temperatures well into the 30’s, high humidity, stray dogs, chickens and crazy local drivers were encountered by athletes but BPM-Sport athletes and friends, Mike, Nick, Sarah, Oliver, Paul, Tracy and Alice all finished strong.
Special mention goes to the top performers of the day:

Evan Gallagher - 1st Overall male, Sprint Distance
Nicole Gallagher - 1st Overall female, Sprint Distance

Bintan International Triathlon

The 6th Bintan International Triathlon was held over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd May in the Indonesian holiday resort. BPM-Sport had a number of athletes racing at this popular event, with many Friends of BPM-Sport also participating.

Congratulations to our athletes; Neil, Richard, Andy, Nick, Luke, Sarah, Gianfranco and Jeneane, (many of who were first time Olympic Distance participants), on your results - there were a few PB's in there which is awesome. An extra special mention goes to our podium place winner;

Yolanda Catton - 2nd 20-29 Female category.

Another great day of racing for BPM-Sport athletes.

Try this awesome drink to help recharge your muscles post work out: Ingredients; 1/3 cup OJ, 1/2 cup Mango juice, 1/2 cup natural non fat yoghurt, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, frozen banana Method; Blend until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!

Australian Long Course Champion Pete Jacobs recommends you;
- Train less, think about technique more.
- Eat like a poor person (rice, oats, fruit & veg).
- Treat yourself like a baby (naps & playtime).
- Follow your instincts (training, tastes, racing)

"The BPM Pro camp with Chris McCormack & Pete Jacobs was an amazing experience. The opportunity to live and train with two of the fittest guys on the planet was a highlight (including the fact they are both fantastic guys). The camp was very well organized and catered for athletes of all abilities. The mix of swimming, riding and running was spot on and the informational sessions with the pro''s and coaches was excellent. I certainly have a spring in my step post camp to attack my training and racing and apply the many learnt skills and knowledge. I would certainly recommend the camp to any age group athlete out there and I look forward to attending more BPM camps in the future." Trent, Sydney
