As 2011 quickly draws to a close and athletes start to plan their 2012 race year, many start to wonder how they are going to get to the start line and who is going to help them get there. A successful coach/athlete relationship develops from the coming together of a dedicated, eager athlete and an equally dedicated, qualified and experienced coach. Before deciding on who best meets your coaching needs, we recommend you always ask the question of any coach, “What are your qualifications and your experience as a coach?”

BPM-Sport is fast becoming a highly regarded triathlon coaching business based in Asia and in 2011 alone, we have helped numerous athletes lose weight, sucessfully race their first triathlon, achieve personal best’s and even achieve their dream of a coveted “Kona or Vegas Slot”. We are not a social club, nor focused on profits. We are focused on getting results for our athletes and keeping them healthy and injury free for the long term. Our athletes span the global and their levels of experience, whether they be a first timer or an Ironman champion and 2011 Ironman World Championships Runner Up, Pete Jacobs.

Why consider BPM-Sport?

Our aim is to help our athletes achieve their personal best in training and racing while also meeting their health and fitness goals. We place an emphasis on small training groups to ensure individual attention is provided to all our athletes and we ensure our coaching staff are fully qualified and certified in their area of expertise. We practice the latest in training theories and continually update our skill set while regularly interacting with sports scientists and professional triathletes to gain their insights into the best training practices, and to assist our clients with their training programs.

BPM-Sport offer on-line coaching, face-to-face training sessions and of course our ever popular triathlon training camps with some of the sports greatest professional triathletes including Chris “Macca”McCormack, Mirinda Carfrae, Pete Jacobs as well as Belinda and Justin Granger. In 2012 our athletes will also receive some exciting opportuntities with even more pro’s.

Unlike many other coaching organisations, we do not submit to the “cookie-cutter”approach to training and will always work with our athletes individually to ensure they are getting what they need for their programs and training sessions. We are 100% committed to our athletes and the results acheived by them are testament to our dedication. BPM-Sport coached athletes have tasted success at all levels be they local club races, regional competitions, international events and of course the holy grail of triathlon, Kona. We pride ourselves on assisting athletes to achieve personal records and getting the best out of their training in a balanced manner.

So as you start preparing for 2012, contact BPM-Sport for your coaching needs and one of our team will help you get to the start line in the best possible shape and achieve your race day goal.

In 2012 Pete Jacobs will offer age groupers the chance to train and race with him. Pete and his coaching team at BPM-Sport.com have decided to let people utilize the same core training structure that he will use, adjusted to their individual needs. The BPM-Sport coaches along with Pete himself will adjust the programs dependent on each age groupers targets so whether you are going to target an 8 hour ironman or simply just try to finish, you will be
looked after knowing that you have Pete and the people that advise him supporting you.

Athletes will also receive private online interactions with inside tips and advice from the 5th fastest athlete of all time in Kona and of course the 3rd fastest runner of all time at triathlon’s long course mecca. Come race weekend “PJ’s team” will be able to sit down and talk with Pete for a pre race briefing as well as a post race debrief to discuss what went right, went wrong and ultimately help them plan for the next race they may have. A race targeted training plan and personal interactions with Pete, all for under $3 a day.

Pete said “I am a self coached athlete but part of that process involves a team of fellow coaches at BPM-Sport whom advise me throughout the year and we share training ideas and concepts to help fine tune my plans. We have done some really successful training camps for age group athletes but we wanted to be able to help more people out and thought this would be a great way to do it. It will allow me to have more personal interactions with all levels of athletes which I enjoy doing. We thought why not do it for the races I am targeting and we can all share the journey together?”

Our very own coaches, Nicole commented “Every training camp we’ve done with Pete has been extremely successful and people are always asking for more access to him as he is very particular with technique and structure. So between Pete and his coaching team here we decided this year to try something a bit different and let people get even closer to Pete and have the fun of training and racing with him. We’re going to try and set up private training camps in the lead in to Pete’s races as well so people can learn from us and Pete how he prepares himself for the particular course and have even more one on one time. We want these plans to be a cost effective way for athletes to prepare for their own race alongside one of the world’s best and I’m confident that is what we have created.”

Pete went on to say “Some of my sponsors thought it was a great idea and want to get involved so we’re lining up some very cool prizes, big discounts and I’ve even asked F2P who worked with me to design my customised race kit for Kona if we can look at creating a special kit for everyone so I can spot them on course and we can help cheer each other on.”

The first opportunity is being released now for those racing the 2012 summer events in Australia as Pete
announces his 2012 race schedule soon.

To help with this problem, Laguna Phuket is working with their local community to provide survival swim lessons for more than 2,600 local children aged 12-15 years in surrounding district schools.

The programme, which has been implemented in partnership with the Phuket Lifeguard Club, will teach the children how to save themselves if they fall into water, how to read ocean rips, the importance of respecting the conditions and above all, feeling safe and comfortable in the water.

It is estimated the THB 600, 000 will be required to set up and run the programme for 12 months and on seeing the amazing work being carried out to teach the children these important skills, BPM-Sport have made a donation to help the programme to continue beyond the 12 months along with the numerous goggles, swim caps and other swimming aids kindly donated by our athletes and friends.

Every year BPM-Sport find a charity to support and this year we will be working with our good friends at Laguna Phuket to help raise much needed funds for the “Kid’s Survival Swim programme”. Aimed at thousands of local Thai children aged 12-15 years, the programme hopes to give children survival swim lessons and improve their confidence in deep water.

To help the children during their sessions, we have also decided to arrange a collection of pre-loved goggles, swimmers and swimming aids….we all have some lying around!

If you have any items you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause, please email us at info@BPM-Sport.com so we can arrange collection / delivery.

A HUGE thank you must go out to our Friends at Team Sonic Triathletes in Hong Kong for their generous donation which will be delivered to Phuket in the coming weeks.

A HUGE congratulations to our good friends Pete Jacobs and Belinda Granger for their wins at the Philippines 70.3 on the 14th August.

Pete was first out of the water and held onto his lead throughout the day finishing over 20 minutes ahead of his nearest rival Jesse Thomas in 3:51:43. This was Pete’s second consecutive win in Camsur and definately puts him in good sted going into Kona.

Joining Pete on the podium was Belinda who was 3 minutes down on Amanda Stevens as they left the water. Belinda dug deep and managed to pull ahead finishing 90 seconds ahead to take the female crown in 4:26:03. We like to think that her time in Singapore was the catalyst for her stellar performance!

Congratulations also to our age group athletes and friends who put in amazing efforts to win their age groups, slots to Kona or finishing with a PB.
