BPM-Sport donate to Children’s Survival Swim Program in Phuket

The Thai Health Authority statistics show that drowning is the highest cause of death for Thai children under the age of 15.

To help with this problem, Laguna Phuket is working with their local community to provide survival swim lessons for more than 2,600 local children aged 12-15 years in surrounding district schools. Read more

Whilst in town for the Aviva Singapore 70.3, Pete Jacobs put his TYR coaching hat on to pass on some of his top tips and training secrets to a number of lucky triathletes, whilst raising funds for the victims of the recent floods in QLD, Australia, as well as earthquakes in Christchurch and Japan.

BPM-Sport visit the Baan Tharn Namchai Orphanage

Thanks to the generosity of BPM-Sport clients and friends, a suitcase full of swimming goggles and costumes, rice, cooking oil, milo and a few special treats were recently delivered to the Baan Tharn Namchai orphanage in the Khao Lak area of Thailand.

The Orphanage is home to 72 children, many of whom lost their families in the 2006 Boxing Day Tsunami that struck the popular resort area of Thailand.

BPM and Chris McCormack support CAF Charity Event

On Wednesday 10th February over 60 members of ANZA Cycling Club enjoyed a BPM social evening of Beers, Burgers and Banter with Chris “Macca” McCormack at Brewerkz Riverside Point.

The event, which was held to provide sports grants to Singapore-based physically challenged athletes through the Challenged Athletes Foundation, raised $4,000. We were joined on the night by a 2009 grant recipient (Jack Lai Pak Lok) and Fung-liang Foo (president of the handcycle association of Singapore).

September 2009 – BPM and Pete Jacobs donate money to charity

BPM in conjunction with Pete Jacobs are proud to support the Tribob Hoi An Children’s Swim Program.

The program was started in 2008 in Hoi An, Central Vietnam after statistics from the Ministry of Health indicated that 10 children drown every day making it the leading cause of injury related death among children over the age of one.
